Joanne Wyss
In 25 years as Director of Communications for McKinsey & Company, the international management consulting firm, Joanne Wyss advised senior corporate and nonprofit leaders in the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Australia to build support for new directions and priorities through
effective communications strategies. She now heads her own consulting practice, Communicating for Results.
A leader in the nonprofit arena, Joanne was a founder of Greater Naples Leadership and served as its first woman President. She co-founded Books for Collier Kids and chaired the organization for 11 years. Since 2005, BCK has given over two million brand-new books to disadvantaged children in Collier County.
Joanne currently serves on the Boards of Gulfshore Playhouse and The Forum Club of Southwest Florida. Her previous Board service includes the Collier Community Foundation, the Immokalee Foundation, and the David Lawrence Center. For her vision and leadership, Joanne was named a Woman of Initiative by the Collier Community Foundation and received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Greater Naples Leadership.
Through their philanthropic giving, Joanne and her late husband, Karl, have generously supported NCH, early childhood education, and performing arts organizations including Gulfshore Playhouse, the Bower School of Music at FGCU, Opera Naples, and the Grand Piano Series.
With a passion for travel, music and writing, Joanne has visited over 75 countries. She plays piano with the Crescendos, an amateur performance group, and has published a book of short poems, Moments.
